Dr. Robert E. Martin, 79, of Danville, passed away December 29, 2023 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was born on March 26, 1944 in Sweetwater, Texas to the late William and Mary Elizabeth Gilman Martin. He is survived by his loving wife, Marlene Daphne Silha Martin.
Robert was a professor at Centre College where he taught economics for over 20 years.
He is survived by two sons, Aaron Martin (Mariam) of Brentwood, TN and Dieter Martin (Karen) of Austin,TX ; a daughter, Amy Martin of Berlin, Germany; and five grandchildren, Connor, Ariana, Chloe, Travis, and Nicholas Martin.
Funeral Services are private and burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
