Roy Smallwood Obituary

Roy Smallwood, 92, of Danville, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was born on August 10, 1929 in Clay County, Kentucky to the late Glight and Mary Smallwood.

He is survived by a son, Bob Smallwood; four grandchildren, Rebecca Willett of South Carolina, Crystal Carter of Perryville, Sonya Engle of Bowling Green, and Bobby Smallwood of Liberty; and 17 great grandchildren.

Roy was a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church and worked as a member of the kitchen staff at Kentucky School for the Deaf for many years. He loved to travel and see new things.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Belvia; and two sons, Zora Smallwood and Irvin Smallwood.

A private service will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery in Danville, KY.
