Shelby Crawford

Shelby Gregory Crawford, 84, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Stanford Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in London, Kentucky to the late Toleman Gregory and Christine Martin Gregory. 

Her family moved to Danville when she was a young girl and she resided here for the rest of her life. She was a graduate of Danville High School, Class of 1956. She was also a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University for both her bachelor's and master's degrees. She was a retired elementary school teacher with the Boyle County Schools, having taught both 3rd and 5th grades.

Shelby was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Byron Douglas Crawford. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, David Toleman Gregory and Gillis Martin Gregory.

She is survived by a daughter, Laura LaRue (Ben) of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and a son, Stephen Crawford of Danville and her grandchildren, Anna Crawford, Jack Crawford and Grace Crawford, all of Danville.

A private family burial will be held at Bellevue Cemetery.
