Shirley M. Hagan, 68, of Danville, passed away January 31, 2022 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was born on February 9, 1953 in Boyle County to the late Lawrence and Mary Walker Ford. Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Robert L. Hagan.
Shirley retired from American Greetings, she was a devoted wife to Robert Hagan for 50 years. She had a heart of gold, she cherished her children and grandchildren, she loved her brothers and sisters. Family time was everything to her. There was nothing she would not do for anyone. She loved her church family and singing in the choir. Shirley’s nickname was “MacGyver” because there was nothing she could not fix. She was lead singer in a band “Mo flavor”. Shirley loved playing cards and listening to music.
Surviving is a son, Bobby Lee Hagan, Jr. of Danville; daughters, Sonya Ford of Danville, Angela Hagan of Danville, Yvonne Brand (James) of Danville and Latoya Hagan of Georgetown; brothers, Lawrence Ford Jr. (Belinda) of Harrodsburg, Larry Ford (Sherri) of Ashland, and Stephon Ford of Danville; sisters, Charlotte Caldwell (Rob) of Junction City, Glenna Cooper of Louisville, Joyce Collins (Nathan) of Danville, and Mona Ford of Danville; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a mother and father, Lawrence and Mary Nancy Ford, a brother, James Ford and a sister, Brenda Williams.
Funeral services will be 1pm Monday, February 7, 2022 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffery Yocum officiating. Burial will follow in Hilldale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm on Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are James Brand, Dexter Brand, Patrick Brand, Landon Ford, Marcellous Harris, Spencer Perrin and Charlie Herrington.
Honorary pallbearers are The Trustees of First Baptist Church Perryville, Nathan Collins, and Greg Ford.
