Stephen Campbell Obituary

Stephen Campbell, 70, of Danville, Kentucky, passed away on February 12, 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia. A proud Air Force veteran, Stephen flew B-52 bombers during the Cold War before becoming a captain at American Airlines, where he flew for 31 years.


He is survived by his daughter, Ashley MacDonell, son, Nicholas Campbell, son-in-law Peter MacDonell, soon-to-be daughter-in-law Katie Kestly, and grandchildren William (3) and Nora (11 months).


Stephen was deeply proud of his hometown of Danville, where he spent the majority of his years and carried the spirit of that community with him throughout his life. His legacy of service, love, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.


A memorial service will be held at 1pm Friday, March 21, 2025 at First Christian Church of Danville, Kentucky with Pastor Ben Akers officiating. Visitation will be from 11am-until service time. Burial with full military honors will be held at 2:30, Friday, March 21, 2025 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
