Steve Taylor, 51, passed away Friday, May 9, 2025 at UK Hospital in Lexington. He was born in Fort Campbell, Kentucky on November 29, 1973 to Lois Tharp Taylor and the late Phillip Ray Taylor. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 31 years, Lee Ann Logue Taylor.
Steve worked at Lowe’s for twenty-two years and was an influential guitar player. He loved Kentucky basketball, Chicago Bears, and the Atlanta Braves. And lastly, a quote by Steve he wanted to “make people laugh, man” He did just that with everyone he came in contact with. His sense of humor will never be matched.
In addition to his wife and mother, Steve is survived by the best mother-in-law, Pat Logue Crouch; a brother, Stuart Taylor of Danville; three nieces, Sarah Taylor, Emma Wheatley and Isabella Taylor; a great niece, Addison Shepherd; a brotherly cousin, Chris Floyd; and several other cousins and special friends.
A memorial service will be held at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 6:00 PM coordinated by Leslie Taylor Jones. Visitation will be held from 3 PM until the time of the service.
Honorary pallbearers are Chris Floyd, Leslie Taylor Jones, Stuart Taylor, Garett Oaks, Kojack Jones, Chris Tharp, Aimee Wilson, Spencer Tharp, and Tony Ogle.
In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Wounded Warrior Project at P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
