William “Lawrence” Spalding, 76, of Danville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at his home. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carolyn Walker Spalding. Lawrence was born on October 1, 1949 in Washington County, KY to the late Roscoe and Martha Spalding.
Lawrence proudly served our Country in the United States Navy. Lawrence worked for ATR for over 20 years. He also worked for Millis Transport for over 15 years. He enjoyed Harley Davidson Motorcycles, loved to sing, watching sports, he was an avid Louisville Cardinals fan, and enjoyed going to car shows and drag racing. Lawrence was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Perryville, KY.
Surviving is his loving wife, Carolyn Walker Spalding of Danville; two sons, Wesley Spalding of Pennsylvania and William Spalding (Tiffany) of Danville; grandchildren, Walker Spalding, Lundon Spalding, Aiden Nichols, Weston Spalding, and Lauren Spalding; siblings, Rossie Spalding (Jean) of Chicago, Jimmy Spalding of Louisville, Jessie Spalding (Inatha) of Bardstown, Meridith Spalding (Cheryl) of Virginia, Charles Spalding (Ruth) of Virginia, Martha Kay Martin (Rick) of Bardstown, Martina Keene of Lexington, Carol Jean Spalding of Bardstown; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by two brothers, Donnie and Richard Spalding.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday, February 20, 2026 at First Baptist Church, Perryville, Kentucky with Pastor Jeff Yocum officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the church. An additional visitation will be from 11am unitl service time on Friday at the church.
Burial will follow the funeral service in the Perryville Springhill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Demarius Walker, Johnny Lear, Rick Martin, Shane Yocum, Jon Llamas, Guyron Spalding, Zach Shelton and Charles Stevens.
