William "Billy" R. Manning

William "Billy" Ray Manning, 75, of Stanford, passed away December 14, 2024 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was born on December 10, 1949 to the late Walter and Lucille Preston  Manning.

Billy worked in the maintenance department at KSD for over 27 years. Billy was a member of Worldstown Road Church of God. He loved to trade guns and knives but above all loved his family. 

Billy is survived by a son, Chad Manning (Dixie) of Casey County; two daughters, Chana Esparza of Danville and Jennifer Downs of Lancaster; three sisters, Barbara Manning of Springfield, IL, Patricia Poling of San Antonio, TX, and Margaret Peebles of Danville; a sister-in-law Barbara Manning of Junction City; grandchildren: Katie Franklin, Robyn Franklin, Robert Franklin II, Anastasia Blanton, Hannah Downs, and Christopher Manning; 18 great-grandchildren and special friend and mother of his children, Barbara Sue Whitfield of Casey County. 

Billy was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Richard Manning; son-in-law Dennis Downs; and a brother-in law Gordon Poling.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Lonnie Goodin officiating. Burial will follow at Hustonville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Robert Franklin II, Eric Wilson, Brandon Poff, Coty Wilson, James Davis, and Ty Naylor. 

Honorary pallbearers Robyn Franklin,  Katie Franklin, Daniel Leonard Jr., Dixie Manning, Anastasia Blanton, and Denise Downs.
